Ring in the New

Happy 2013, Crazies!

Well, it was pretty crazy in 2012, but this year I plan on focusing more on my craft projects- and I hope you will join me!

Starting with this club blog, we'll be bringing back the monthly challenges & prizes, and loads of inspiration from posts, guest bloggers and (hopefully) club participation (??)!

Ready to help me make this year a crafting success? Great!

We'll start things off pretty easy-

January club challenge:

Leave a comment about your favorite craft project of 2012 and what you want to work on next.  Photos or links are even better!

How simple is that?  I just want to touch base with all of you lovelies and see what directions your crafts have taken you this past year.

Here's what you can win:

I have 2 books up for the prize from the club grab bag, so there will be 2 winners drawn randomly from the participants!

Budget Scrapbooking from Memory Makers, and The Big Book of Handmade Cards by Vivienne Bolton.

Entries will be open until the month is over, and winners will be drawn shortly thereafter.

All participants here on the club blog will earn club points in addition to the chance to win. (Sorry, Facebook entries do not count for this, but are still enjoyed!)

I'm looking forward to reconnecting with you, dear crazies, and making 2013 a wonderful year for crafting!

July Challenge-Palooza

Thank you for participating last month!  It was wonderful seeing the fun things you guys came up with for June's "Back to Nature" challenge!  (If you didn't see the entries, make sure to find our Facebook page, that's where the most fun happens!)  The winners are Kristina and her girls for making their awesome nature masks, and I'll be sending their prize pack their way shortly!

Can you believe that July is here, already?  With the crazy hot weather and fires we've had here in Colorado, it has been difficult to remember that summer has just begun!  While the fire closures & smoke issues have limited the outdoor activities around the state, there are still plenty of fun things to do.  Plus, being locked indoors to get out of the choking smoke can mean crafty productivity!

Over the last few days I have noticed a lot of challenges popping up, and thought this month we could reach out and try those other challenges!  Once you find one, post a comment here or on our Facebook wall with the following:
  1. The link to the challenge information
  2. The pic of or link to your submitted project
It can be any challenge (present or past), any medium, any age level; anything goes!  If you aren't ready to submit your project to the site (or missed your chance) but like their challenge idea, submit it here instead!  This is a great forum for craft ideas and support, and we always love to see what you're working on!

Here are a few links to get you started!

I'll try to add comments with more links as I come across them, and make sure to check the comments for fun challenges the other crazy crafters here find!  This is a great way to branch out and see what other crafters are working on!

In addition to any prizes you might be up for at the original challenge site, you will also be able to win here!  The usual rules apply for earning club points, with the "Committed Crafters" getting double points!

I can't wait to see what you guys find out there!
Happy Crafting!

Back to Nature

June has arrived, dear friends, with its gorgeous weather and outdoor activities, the end of those agonizingly long school days and a bright new beginning to days full of possibilities!  (Or, for the rest of us, long days when we wish we could go out and enjoy the sunshine too.)

I, for one, am very excited about the adventures in store this summer, and think I have found a reasonable balance between work and play.  My only dilemma is that my desire to participate in outdoor pursuits has been by far more interesting than my usual crafts.  With this in mind, I think that this month's challenge should be related to those alfresco enterprises- so here it is!

Getting back to Nature

Create something inspired by nature!  You can include bits of nature in your projects, scrapbook photos of those outdoor adventures, spin some angora rabbit fur for those socks, paint lines that imitate nature, whatever strikes your fancy!

As always, these challenges are open to interpretation, so anything submitted counts!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

I'll be going through some of my unused supplies and putting together a little kit (you all know I can't resist a bargain!)- some papers, some stamps, and some beads & embellishments.  Depending on how many participants we have, we might have more than one prize pack (so the more entries the better!)

[The Fine Print]

Don't forget that Committed Crafters get double entries on all challenges, and you can enter as many times as you wish.  Enter by the end of the day on June 30th, and the winner will be announced a few days later.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Thanks for playing!
